My420Love uses only a few strictly necessary cookies and no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why there's no cookie banner.

My420Love™ uses only the cookies it needs to work and to stay secure. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no third-party analytics. That's why you never see a cookie banner.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Some are essential, like the one that keeps you signed in. Others are used to follow people across websites for advertising. We only use the essential kind.
The cookies we use
Every cookie we use is strictly necessary, and every one is set by my420love.com itself. None is used for advertising or to follow you around the internet.
- m4l_sid: keeps you signed in and protects your forms from forgery (your session and its security token). Lasts up to 90 days, and ends after 14 days without a visit.
- m4l_theme: remembers whether you picked dark, light or match-my-device, so pages open in the right colors without a flash. Lasts 1 year.
- m4l_lt: lets you pick up your free Love Test where you left off, and see your result, before you have an account. Lasts 30 days.
- m4l_dev: a random device ID used only for security, such as stopping banned accounts from rejoining. Lasts 1 year.
- m4l_age: remembers an under-21 sign-up attempt so the age check can't be retried right away. Lasts 30 days.
- m4l_preview: used only during our private preview, to let invited testers in. Lasts 30 days.
Other things stored on your device
- App files. If you add My420Love to your home screen, your browser keeps a copy of our logo and our offline page so the app opens quickly. We never store your pages or personal information this way.
- Unsent messages. If you lose your connection while writing, up to 5 messages wait on your device and send when you're back online. They're cleared when you log out.
- Your app icon choice. If you pick the discreet app icon, your browser remembers that choice.
How we count visits without cookies
We count how often pages and features are used as simple daily totals, with no user IDs attached. It all happens on our own server, with no cookies and no outside analytics companies.
What we don't use
- no advertising or retargeting cookies;
- no social media pixels, such as those from Meta or TikTok;
- no Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics;
- no session-recording or heat-mapping tools; and
- no advertising software of any kind.
Fonts. Right now, our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and basic browser information when a page loads, as with any website request. We're moving our fonts onto our own server. [ENGINEERING: delete this paragraph once fonts are self-hosted (BLUEPRINT D-57).]
Checkout. Once paid plans begin, you'll pay on our payment processor's own secure page. That page may set its own cookies, under the processor's privacy policy.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We already don't sell or share, so there's nothing more to switch off. We don't track you across other websites, so we don't change anything in response to a Do Not Track signal.
Your choices
Because every cookie we use is strictly necessary, there's nothing to opt out of. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you block m4l_sid, you won't be able to sign in.
If this ever changes
Before we add any cookie that isn't strictly necessary, we'll update this notice, give you a clear way to say no, and honor Global Privacy Control signals.
