My420Love™ is a dating service for adults 21 and over, operated by [Legal business name], [Business mailing address]. These guidelines explain how we respond to requests from government and law-enforcement agencies in the United States. They are not legal advice, and they do not create any rights for anyone.
What information we may have
We collect only what the service needs. Depending on the member and the time that has passed, we may have:
- Basic account information: email address, date of birth, account creation date, account status.
- Profile content: first name, photos and videos the member uploaded, and the answers and text they chose to share.
- Messages exchanged in the app.
- Limited technical information: sign-in times, and keyed hashes of IP addresses rather than the raw addresses, kept for a short time.
- Payment records (when paid plans are active): what was purchased and when. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor, never by us.
We do not collect precise location (members choose a metro area only), and we do not keep content longer than our retention schedule allows. Deleted accounts are erased within 30 days unless a legal hold applies.
Legal process we require
- Subpoena: may be used for basic subscriber information (18 U.S.C. §2703(c)(2)).
- Court order under 18 U.S.C. §2703(d): required for other non-content records.
- Search warrant: required for the contents of messages, photos and other member content (18 U.S.C. §2703(a) and (b)).
Requests from outside the United States should come through a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty or another process recognized by U.S. law [ATTORNEY: confirm our position on foreign requests and the CLOUD Act].
Every request should be on agency letterhead or sent from an official government email address, and should identify the member precisely (for example, by profile link, profile name or email address). Overly broad requests may be narrowed or declined.
Preservation requests
We honor requests to preserve records under 18 U.S.C. §2703(f) for 90 days, and we extend them for one additional 90-day period on a renewed request. A preserved account is placed on legal hold, which stops the normal deletion of its data while the hold lasts.
Emergency requests
We may disclose information without legal process when we believe in good faith that an emergency involving danger of death or serious physical injury to any person requires disclosure without delay (18 U.S.C. §2702(b)(8) and (c)(4)). Please choose "Emergency disclosure" in the form and describe the nature of the emergency. Emergency requests are reviewed first, around the clock.
Notice to members
Our policy is to notify members of requests for their information before disclosure, so they can seek legal advice, unless:
- a statute or a court order prohibits notice (for example, an order under 18 U.S.C. §2705(b)),
- the request is an emergency, or
- notice would put someone at risk of harm, or the case involves child safety.
Child safety
We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by 18 U.S.C. §2258A, and we preserve the related records for one year.
How to submit a request
- Online: the form on this page.
- Email: legal@my420love.com.
- Mail or service of process: [Legal business name], [Business mailing address] [ATTORNEY: registered agent and accepted methods of service].
We may seek reimbursement of reasonable costs where the law allows (18 U.S.C. §2706).
[ATTORNEY: review this page, the stated legal standards and the member-notice policy.]
